Ethics and Sustainability

Dress for Success is a leading resource for advancing women in the workplace, providing a global network of support, workplace attire and development tools for success. Through our donations of new, unsold garments, we support its work helping women achieve economic mobility.
Since 2020, we have partnered with Regenerate Australia (formerly Carbon Positive Australia) to support ecosystem restoration and community forest projects. We maintain an ongoing financial commitment to its work supporting nature regeneration and community engagement across Australia.

Our aim is to prioritise materials that are natural or recycled, and to consider biodegradable materials where appropriate.
Softly weighted and strong, our hemp/cotton blend forms the foundation of our jersey range, using organic cotton where possible. Hemp is a resilient fibre crop that typically requires low irrigation and minimal chemical inputs and is valued for its efficient fibre yield.
Our knitwear is designed for comfort and easy layering. They are soft to touch and made from recycled polyester and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose, while our wool blend knits combine responsibly sourced wool with recycled nylon made from reclaimed fishing nets. We work with certified or verified supply chains where possible to support improved material traceability and verification of recycled content.
Most of our tailored pants and shirts are crafted from wool, offering a soft hand feel, natural breathability, temperature regulation and odour resistance. Wool is a natural and renewable fibre that forms an important part of our collections.
Integrated into our knitwear and quilted styles, the polyester we use is 100% post-consumer recycled and made from reclaimed materials.
We use TENCEL™ Lyocell for its softness, breathability, moisture control and drape - qualities that bring lasting comfort to our collections.
Deiji Studios currently uses metal hardware such as zippers, studs and D-rings, plastic button closures, garment tags composed of recycled polyester or cotton, and garment elastic composed of polyester.

We are committed to working together with our factories to support the people who work on our garments and their local communities. Fair compensation, reasonable working conditions and appropriate working hours are of utmost importance to us. We expect our manufacturing partners to maintain standards that support workers' essential needs, including food, water, accommodation, education, medical care, clothing and transport.
We personally visit our factories and work closely with our manufacturing partners to review their yearly audits and identify areas for improvement on a case-by-case basis. All our manufacturing partners have signed and agreed to our Code of Conduct and environmental policies.
Our factories work to carefully manage the amount of fabric ordered for each collection, with leftover fabrics reused or recycled where possible. Most of our factories use hydroelectric and solar power within their operations and are encouraged to implement renewable energy resources where possible.

We continue to review supplier practices, audits and areas for improvement as part of our ongoing supply-chain due diligence.
